Individual and Group Therapy, in Malta.

Hi, I am Maria, a Gestalt psychotherapist working with adults in individual and group settings. I specialise in trauma, relationships, and personal growth, with a particular focus on perinatal and postpartum mental health. I also carry out group therapy and workshops integrating psychoeducation, shared experience processing, and individual therapeutic interventions within the group setting.I also provide specialist support to victims of crime through a local NGO, providing care to those affected by suicide and domestic abuse, and survivors of sexual violence. When I am not in session, I enjoy crafting things by hand, sharing (endless) coffee chats with friends and family - or spending time with my two daughters.

Just like a pregnant woman, I believe there is growth in simply being.Lately, as I've been spending time with my children, I've found myself reflecting on how important it is to stay present. We often think children need big ideas, elaborate activities, and expensive experiences; but I'm not so sure. The connection that is slowly built through presence, through ordinary moments, through games, laughter, and shared time, is the kind that lasts. After all, the most meaningful things grow quietly.Read More →

I feel there are a lot of misconceptions which keep people away from starting their therapeutic journey. In the first one I describe key differences between therapy and advice-giving.Many people think therapy is about getting advice. Some even wonder, "Why pay a stranger when I can talk to a friend or ask ChatGPT?"But therapy is not advice-giving.The way you relate to your therapist often reflects how you relate to others; Patterns like avoiding conflict, people-pleasing, or struggling to express your needs can show up in therapy too. These are often the same patterns that shape your most intimate and important relationships.

Finding your village · 17 June 2026

I keep seeing posts about 'finding your village' and 're-creating the village' in motherhood. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if the village isn't always something we find. Maybe it's something we create.Maybe it's sending the first text.Inviting another mum for a coffee.Dropping off a meal after a new baby arrives. What does being a villager look like to you?
